About

I have done video/photo/sound production in a wide variety of genres over the past 5 decades. I began my career in video production  in 1977 at KTCA-TV, the local PBS station in the Twin cities. From there I spent years documenting underwater wildlife, landscapes, and island life throughout the Caribbean and the Americas using both video and still pictures. Before retiring, I fell in love with the magical Blue Ridge Mountains of Western North Carolina (WNC). It is through my current love of this area that I wish to promote the local wildlife and scenery that attract over 10 million people each year to our mountains.

 

What's the Point?

I am also trying to give something back to society. Since retiring, all profits from my sales have been donated to non-profits that benefit our local and international communities. In this way, I am still able to contribute to causes dear to my heart. In the past I have supported food pantries, the ocean cleanup of plastics, organizations that serve the hungry, homeless and working poor, public broadcasting, humane animal treatment, children at-risk, and humanitarian aide to Ukraine, Africa, India and Bangladesh. NO profits are ever used to support or promote any political entities or campaigns.

 

My Work?

After 50 years of experience, one thing you will find in my work is 'nuance', which adds to the story, and makes it more than just a photograph. The other thing you will find in my photography on these pages is authenticity.  I have taken an incredibly wide array of photographic subjects from astral photography on one extreme, to macro photography of the tiny critters we rarely see at the other end of the spectrum.

 

Formats and High End Products:

Canvas; metal prints; wood cut pictures; calendars; tin-type photos; puzzles (wood and cardboard) and affordable videos. I also use UV glass over framed prints which preserves them for 30 years without degradation. This is a smart option that protects your investment for the long run, whether you are a business or a savvy homeowner. Prints of available collections for sale are limited to 100, ensuring the value of your décor for years to come. Each print is signed on the back along with a description of  the image and the story behind it. Image portfolios for sale rotate annually. Images displayed on the pages other than the Home Page are ONLY available for sale while they are posted on the site.
